If we listened to our intellect we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have a friendship. We’d never go in business because we’d be cynical: “It’s gonna go wrong.” Or “She’s going to hurt me.” Or,”I’ve had a couple of bad love affairs, so therefore …” Well, that’s nonsense. You’re going to miss life. You’ve got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down.

Ray Bradbury (via misswallflower)

theglasslens: I firmly believe in this quote. jumping and diving into things is honestly the only way I know how to live.

theglasslens: it’s possible that I’ll be getting this tattoo. i’m going to decide by my birthday whether or not to do it. i photoshopped these two photos together to get a better idea of what it would like to put an octopus on the outer side of my left foot. pretty nerdy, I know. why an octopus?… well, they’ve been my favorite animal for over 5 years for multiple reasons - they’re brilliantly intelligent, they remind me to adapt to my surroundings and enjoy where I am within the moment, and they have 3 hearts, obviously full of love just like me. plus, they never travel with others, always alone and independent, which I have great admiration for.…thoughts?

theglasslens: can’t stop. won’t stop.

theglasslens: reasons to love an octopus more than any other animal:

- highly intelligent creatures (smarty pants)
- have no internal or external skeleton (squishy and flexible)
- have 8 arms (multitasking extraordinaire)
- reproduction is a cause of fatality for their species because they neglect to feed themselves while caring for their offspring within the first month of their lives (selfless)
- have 3 hearts (obviously could love 3X as much and as well as any human)
- their primary defense to danger is to hide (non-confrontational)
- advanced camouflage capabilities (purely awesome)
- there is record of an octopus weighing almost 600 lbs and having an arm span of nearly 30 feet (badass)

theglasslens: just booked a flight to Boston. officially. march 1st-6th will be 5 days of solid adventuring and picture-taking with my dear friend ashley west. one destination off my long list of must-see places will be checked off. so happy.
